How to Prepare for Corporate & Team Headshots

Appearance is key — think of this as an opportunity to upgrade your look. The guidance below comes from years of sessions in our studio. A little preparation makes a real difference in the final image.
Get Camera-Ready
Treat your session as a chance to put your best self forward. Treat yourself to a new shirt, jacket or designer glasses, and arrive in the outfit you want to be photographed in. Ask yourself what people in your line of work typically wear and what image you want to project. If you’re after a professional LinkedIn or corporate photo, wear a suit or jacket even if your day-to-day role doesn’t require one; the more polished the look, the better it serves you.
Come Well Rested
We want you to look fresh and full of energy in your photo. Don’t stay up late the night before — instead, get some rest so you shine and look your best. If you happen to get sick and the deadline isn’t pressing, it’s better to reschedule.
Hydrate Your Skin
Make sure your face is washed and hydrated with an organic cream. A fresh haircut or a blowout would do wonders. If your skin is sensitive or you’re prone to allergies, don’t try anything new right before the shoot — stick to the products you know. We also work with professional groomers who can be booked for an additional fee; contact us if you’d like to arrange one.
What to Wear
Solid colors photograph best and keep the focus on you. Make sure everything is clean and ironed. The notes below cover the essentials for each look.
Ladies
Gentlemen
Wardrobe
Dark jackets photograph well, but a solid-color blouse with the arms covered, or a dress, can be just fine. Make sure all clothes are clean and ironed.
Wardrobe
We recommend dark blue, charcoal or black suits. Ties are encouraged even if you don’t normally wear one. You are responsible for providing your own suit and tie. Make sure all clothes are clean and ironed.
Hair & Makeup
A fresh haircut or a blowout would do wonders. Use matte lipstick rather than gloss, and mascara to highlight the eyes. Bring your make-up and a hairbrush for last-minute touch-ups.
Grooming
A clean shave or a tidy beard trim is essential — do it right before your session, or feel free to do it at our studio. Bring a hairbrush for last-minute touch-ups.
Avoid
Sleeveless and short-sleeve tops, turtlenecks, and low-cut tops — they may crop awkwardly.

Crew-neck undershirts if you’re not wearing a tie.
Informal headshots
For a relaxed, non-corporate look, bring the clothes you love to wear — something that makes you feel great. Feel free to bring a few options to choose from. Bright solid colors work best so you stand out from hundreds of other shots, and as always, make sure everything is clean and ironed.
What to Expect
The whole visit takes about 30 minutes. Here’s how it goes:
Arrive Camera-Ready
Come dressed and groomed, ready to be photographed, and do any last-minute touch-ups on arrival. Professional hair and makeup is not included by default — it can be added as a separate booking or arranged by your company for a group session. If it has been booked, you’ll have light styling and touch-ups before the shoot.
Photo Session
Your photographer takes around 15–30 images, guiding you through different angles and helping you get comfortable in front of the camera. Conversation is part of the process — it brings out a more natural expression, so don’t hesitate to open up to them.
Choose Your Favorite
After the session, an Image Selection Manager shows you the photos and guides you to rate and choose the best. You’ll select your top-rated image at this time.
Retouching
Your top-rated image is retouched and cropped. Retouching includes, where applicable: removing blemishes, reducing shine, removing hair flyaways, whitening teeth and eyes, and removing glare in glasses. Please don’t request anything outside this scope.
Access Your Photos
Approximately one week after the shoot, you’ll receive an email with your download link.
What to Bring
Everything here is optional, but handy to have on the day:
